Elizabeth City, VA Police Department
Elizabeth City Police Department had (a few) motorcycles in its fleet in the 60’s and
early 70’s, but phased them out and they were not present in the 80’s or 90’s. Approximately 2000 or 2001, the Elizabeth City Police Department briefly participated
in a motorcycle “loaner” program to re-evaluate the need for motorcycles in our fleet; however, we opted not to
purchase the motorcycles due to budget restraints, along with safety concerns.
