New Paltz Police Department Motor Unit
The New Paltz Police Department formed a full time Motor Unit in
2005 after two years of testing (BMW and Harley-Davidson). Currently the Motor Unit has two full time officers and hoping
to add another motor this year to bring us back up to two. The Department is currently leasing and awaiting the 2009
Harley-Davidson Electra-glides to replace our 2007s. Both of our motor officers have received training through
the Maryland State Police program and have been with the program since its inception.
